Welcome to Rent to Ride. These Terms & Conditions govern your access to our website, vehicle bookings, and use of vehicles rented through Rent to Ride. By accessing our website, making a booking, completing a payment, or taking possession of a rental vehicle, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions and the applicable booking terms.

1. Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Rent to Ride, the customer (“Renter”, “you”, or “your”) must:

  • Meet the minimum age and eligibility requirements applicable to the selected vehicle.

  • Hold a valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle being rented.

  • Provide valid government-issued identification and any other documents required for verification.

  • Provide accurate, complete, and genuine information.

  • Comply with all applicable Indian laws and motor vehicle regulations.

Rent to Ride reserves the right to refuse a booking or vehicle handover if the eligibility or verification requirements are not satisfied.

2. Online Booking

Customers may select an available vehicle, rental period, and pickup and return details through the Rent to Ride website or other authorised booking channels.

A booking will be considered confirmed only after Rent to Ride accepts the booking and the required payment has been successfully received.

Vehicle availability is subject to confirmation and may change due to maintenance, safety requirements, operational needs, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

3. Rental Charges

Our standard rental rate is ₹3,000 per day unless a different rate is displayed and confirmed for the selected vehicle or booking.

The applicable rental charges, taxes, fees, and other costs will be displayed or communicated before the booking is confirmed.

Customers are responsible for reviewing the applicable charges and booking conditions before making payment.

4. Security Deposit

A security deposit of 25% of the applicable rental amount will normally be required unless a different amount is specified for the selected vehicle or booking.

The security deposit is refundable, subject to the applicable booking terms, vehicle inspection, and settlement of any outstanding amounts.

Where applicable, deductions may be made for:

  • Vehicle damage attributable to the customer.

  • Missing keys, documents, or accessories.

  • Excess kilometres travelled.

  • Fuel shortages.

  • Traffic fines, penalties, or e-challans.

  • Toll and parking charges.

  • Late-return charges.

  • Excessive cleaning.

  • Any other amounts properly payable under the booking agreement.

Any deductions will be based on the applicable rental terms and supporting details where appropriate.

5. Kilometre Limit

Each rental day includes 250 kilometres unless a different limit is specifically stated in the booking.

Additional kilometres will be charged at the excess-kilometre rate displayed or communicated before booking confirmation.

The vehicle’s odometer reading may be recorded at pickup and return to determine the total distance travelled.

6. Authorised Drivers

Only the customer and any additional driver expressly authorised by Rent to Ride may drive the rented vehicle.

Every authorised driver must hold a valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that no unauthorised or unqualified person drives the vehicle.

7. Permitted Use of the Vehicle

The rented vehicle must be used responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws, traffic regulations, and the agreed rental conditions.

Customers must not use the vehicle for unlawful activities, unauthorised commercial purposes, racing, or any activity that may endanger people or property.

Customers must not sublet, transfer, or hand over the vehicle to another person without prior authorisation from Rent to Ride.

8. Vehicle Handover and Condition

The vehicle’s condition, existing scratches or dents, fuel level, odometer reading, and accessories may be documented at pickup and return through photographs, videos, or inspection records.

Customers should inspect the vehicle before accepting it and immediately report any damage or issue that has not already been recorded.

By accepting the vehicle, the customer acknowledges receipt in an acceptable condition, subject to recorded defects and normal wear and tear.

Customers may be held responsible for damage occurring during the rental period to the extent established under the applicable rental agreement and law.

9. Fuel Policy

The fuel level at the time of handover will be recorded.

The customer must return the vehicle with the agreed fuel level.

Any fuel shortage and applicable disclosed refuelling or service charges may be recovered from the customer in accordance with the booking terms.

10. Traffic Fines, Tolls and Parking

The customer is responsible for tolls, parking charges, traffic fines, e-challans, penalties, and other charges arising from the customer’s use of the vehicle during the rental period.

If a fine or penalty is received by Rent to Ride after the vehicle has been returned, the customer remains responsible for the applicable amount, subject to applicable law.

11. Accidents, Damage and Theft

In the event of an accident, theft, damage, or another incident involving the rented vehicle, the customer must notify Rent to Ride as soon as reasonably possible.

Where appropriate, the customer must cooperate with the police, insurance providers, and other relevant authorities.

Where safe, the customer should take photographs or videos of the incident and the vehicle.

Customers must not arrange major repairs or make admissions of liability on behalf of Rent to Ride without prior approval, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary for safety or to prevent further damage.

Any financial responsibility arising from an incident will be determined in accordance with the applicable rental agreement, insurance policy, and law.

12. Insurance

Any insurance coverage applicable to the vehicle is subject to the terms, conditions, exclusions, and limitations of the relevant insurance policy.

Insurance may not cover every type of damage, loss, or vehicle use.

Any customer responsibility arising under the rental agreement, insurance excess, or an excluded loss will be handled in accordance with the applicable booking terms, insurance policy, and law.

13. Vehicle Breakdown

If the vehicle breaks down or develops a mechanical problem during the rental period, the customer must contact Rent to Ride promptly.

Customers should follow Rent to Ride’s instructions regarding roadside assistance, towing, or repairs.

Unauthorised repairs may not be reimbursed unless emergency action was reasonably necessary for safety or to prevent further damage.

14. Late Return

The vehicle must be returned at the agreed date, time, and location.

Any extension must be approved by Rent to Ride before the agreed return time.

Late-return charges may apply as disclosed during booking.

Repeated or substantial failure to return the vehicle may result in further action in accordance with the rental agreement and applicable law.

15. Cancellation by the Customer

Customers may cancel a booking through the authorised Rent to Ride booking or contact channels.

Unless different cancellation terms are displayed for a particular booking, the following refund policy applies:

  • 48 hours or more before pickup: 75% of the eligible amount paid will be refunded.

  • Less than 48 hours but at least 24 hours before pickup: 50% of the eligible amount paid will be refunded.

  • Less than 24 hours before pickup or no-show: The booking may be non-refundable, subject to applicable law.

The security deposit will be handled separately in accordance with the applicable booking terms.

Refund processing times may depend on the payment method and payment service provider.

17. Booking Changes and Extensions

Requests to change the vehicle, rental dates, pickup time, or return time are subject to availability and approval by Rent to Ride.

Approved changes may result in additional charges or a revised rental price.

Customers should request changes as early as possible to avoid inconvenience or additional costs.

18. Out-of-State Travel

Customers must obtain prior approval before taking the rented vehicle outside the permitted operating area or state.

Any applicable permits, taxes, tolls, or other authorised travel charges will be the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed in writing.
